Randoms

Here´s 3 random little pieces from the past year: the first one is a Hansel and Gretel character lineup I did for a secret personal project my very talented cousin is trying to get off the ground. The second is a pin-up for Wonderdogs Inc, a comic book my good buddy Matt did. The third is a teeny flyer for my brother (and 2 of his friends)´s birthday karaoke party. Woo!

MERRY CHRISTMAS...2008!!

Hey everybody! It´s been forever since I posted something (I know, shame...shaaame!), but 2008 was...well, it was an interesting year. In any case, I really need to get off my butt and update my online portfolio, so I´m going to start putting stuff up here from now on. I swear! In the meantime, here´s my christmas card for this year, hope you guys like it! Happy holidays!

Super-Duper Christmas Update

So, lots of big changes happened since last I wrote on this thing...mainly, after spending the better part of 2006 trying to use my Optional Practical Training card to get a job in the industry and failing, I decided to go back home to Argentina. A year ago that would´ve been the worst thing ever for me, but after a while I realized it wasn´t such a bad plan...so I´ve been down south for a couple of months now, and I´m enjoying it. Hanging out with my gf, seeing friends and family I hadn´t seen in years and trying to figure out what to do with a BFA down here! Still, I´ve been doing a bit of freelance illustration and talking to people about doing some animation-related stuff, so we´ll see.

In the meantime, Christmas is almost here! Besides the fact that Christmas happens during the really hot and humid summer here, Argentine traditions are a tad diferent from American ones: here, we get together on Christmas eve, eat a whole lotta food (my family´s roasting a whole suckling pig...I swear, it´s Christmas food) and, once midnight comes around, we drink champagne or cider, exchange presents and shoot a bunch of fireworks. Cool, huh? Anyway, hope you all have a great time, no matter what or how you celebrate them. HAPPY HOLIDAYS, EVERYBODY!!

Pitch Party

So I decided to submit something for the 2006 Animation Magazine Pitch Party contest ( http://www.animationmagazine.net/pitch_party_06.html ) I actually won last year, which was awesome, so I thought I'd give it another whirl. Here's my entry for all to see and judge! It's an idea I've been playing with for a while...there's so many medical dramas on TV, it's about time we get a cartoon version! With a fish! Right? Right....?

Just for the record...the character standing behind our rugged and manly (fishly?) hero is Beaverly, a super-sensitive nurse who is madly in love with him. But Surgeon carries a deep, dark secret that makes it impossible for them to be together! Dum dum duummm....Does anybody have any thoughts on this idea? Cool? Crappy? If any of you want to, I can post some more stuff about the idea. I welcome any input!

Second try!

So! My first attempt at the t-shirt thing failed miserably, so I'm giving it another shot (and another...and another...until I get something, dammit!) I hope people like this one better...if you do, please give it a good rating! Here it is:

First t-shirt design up now!

So I decided to start submitting t-shirt designs to threadless.com (check em out, they have some pretty neat stuff!) The way it works is, you submit a design and, if enough people vote for it, they make it and I get some money, which is really cool. I'm planning on submitting more in the upcoming weeks, but the first one is up now, so you guys can go, sign up for free and vote for it if you like it (and if you don't, vote anyways...hehe):

Some stuff

Been pretty busy trying to work on new portfolio pieces...here's a new lineup of some old characters and a new character expression sheet. More to come, hopefully..!
